Psalms 91:6
"nor the pestilence that walks in the darkness, nor the destruction that waste at noonday."
This verse ties to the previous verse. We see, yelekh, it walks, as well as the word, dever, meaning a destructive angel in charge of a plague. The waste at noonday refers to, "ketev", is depicted as being borne on a strong storm, which destroys everything in its path. In Arabic, it means smallpox or fatal plague. It speaks of noonday, in the open and not darkness. The root of all this ties to the words, walk or fly. Meaning it passes.
God will state in verse seven that He will keep us. It stress not to fear. Fear is the worst enemy. Instead, turn your fear into physical prayers. Just as this verse indicates action, so does the alternative solution. Call out to God.
It does not mean to become arrogant or haughty, thinking nothing can affect us. Instead, it means to remember, Who fights for you, Who surrounds you. Realizing that we are all in Covid, may we all understand God is in control. With every breath, keep prayer on our lips. Remain humble, caring for those who need us. Many good people have been lost and their lives impacted by this awful virus. We should never pass judgment on any level. Because at the end of the day, it is God who decides on life. May God bless and protect us all. May those who have lost loved ones, including me, know God is good and truly loves us. It is hard sometimes to remember this, when I would like to ask why. During these times, stop and pray.
